Gales arrive on Tiree!

60 plus mph out here on Tiree, so apart from one slightly 'off their head' wind surfer! everyone was watching the building swell and increasing wind strength! Its was very impressive to see the outer reefs to the north west firing huge walls of water out of no where.
Tiree is one of the best places in the world to windsurf and today is wetting the appetites of the competitors for next weeks wave classic!
Not easy to find shelter on Tiree, we took Ben up to Port Ban, the most picturesque beach at the east end of the island, where we rock climbed with him and explored more rock pools.

The afternoon just got stormier! we headed for Balephuil Bay to have a look at the swell raging in from the west, the photos say it all i guess?
